Rio the Scotty

I was recently commissioned to photograph Rio the Scotty dog on a  very wet & windy day. Luckily the rain held off for an hour or so in the morning & we headed out for a walk, didn’t stop the wind though! We shot the photographs just outside of Pickering in North Yorkshire. heres a few photos from the shoot: 045 copy 141 copy 002 copy 153 copy 010 copy 068 copy

Phillip Stoner The Jeweller

I was recently commissioned to photograph the two Leeds branches of the jewellers Phillip Stoner. They have recently opened a new branch in the Trinity centre and I was asked to photograph the new store and the existing one in the Victoria Quarter. The two stores are completely different in look but carry the brands theme throughout both: simple stylish and elegant. This made my job much easier! The Trinity centre store is modern and simple both inside and out with lots of glass and splashes of purple whereas the Victoria Quarter store is much more traditional on the outside but carries on a stylish modern look on the inside with the same splashes of purple which instantly became the focal point to many of my interior shots.   Visit The Phillip Stoner website to find out more: phillipstoner.com   Heres a few Photographs from the shoot: 002 011 032 046 121 126 146 210 216 victoria quarter copy

The long way to Norway

I managed to tear myself away from work and the gallery last month for a trip to Norway. The trip didn’t get off to a great start as my flight from Leeds and Bradford airport was delayed by half an hour, making me miss my connection from Amsterdam and having 8 hours to wait in Schipol airport! When I finally arrived in Kristiansand there was no luggage to be seen, not a great start by any means! Luckily I had my cameras in my hand luggage so I was able to capture some shots in Kristiansand before my suitcase turned up 2 days later and we headed up the coast to Stavanger and the fjords. The highlight of the trip was the hike up to the Priekestollen Rock. A magnificent natural cliff that towers 604 metres over Lysefjorden. A worthy location for a photograph! After a couple of days here we headed back down to Arendal, a traditional Norwegian fishing town with fantastic architecture and then a few more days in Kristiansand before heading back to England. Jack the Curly Coated Retriever

On Wednesday I met up with a lovely couple from Ampthill, near Bedford on holiday in Pickering, to photograph their dog Jack. Jack is a 6 year old rescue Curly Coated Retriever and thankfully the April showers held off long enough on Wednesday morning for me to capture Jack having fun on a walk. Curly Coats are an uncommon breed with only 60 puppies born in this country last year but have been around since the middle of the 1800′s. They are the largest of the retriever breeds and as you can gather from their name they have a coat of tight curls either in liver brown or black. Just don’t mistake them for a Labradoodle!   Here’s a few photographs from the shoot: dog portraiture dog portraiture dog portraiture dog portraiture dog portraiture Have a nice day.

A portrait of Pimms!

The Saturday just gone was one of very few Saturday’s this year where I did not  have a wedding. Therefore I spent the Morning photographing a beautiful 5 year old black Labrador called Pimms! The weather was slightly overcast but incredibly mild for this time of year and allowed for some very atmospheric photographs on Saltergate brow near the Hole of Horcum. My job was made much easier because Pimms is so well behaved and would sit and stay on command. After we had exhausted the photo opportunities at Saltergate we headed to Thornton Le Dale to get some shots of her in the water which, like a true lab, she loves! Here are a few photographs of Pimms:   Dog portraiture Dog portraiture Dog portraiture Dog portraiture Dog portraiture
